Leviticus 3

The Sacrifice of Well-Being from the Herd

If a person’s offering is a sacrifice of well-being, and it is offered from the herd, whether male or female, the person will present before the LORD an animal without defect. The person will lay a hand on the head of the offering and slaughter it at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. Aaron’s sons, the priests, will dash the blood against all sides of the altar. From the sacrifice of well-being the person will bring as an offering by fire to the LORD the fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that is around the entrails, the two kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the appendage of the liver, which will be removed with the kidneys. Aaron’s sons will turn these into smoke on the altar, on top of the burnt offering that is on the wood over the fire. It is an offering by fire, a pleasing aroma to the LORD.

From the Flock

If the offering to the LORD as a sacrifice of well-being is from the flock, whether male or female, the person will present an animal without defect. If a lamb is brought as the offering, it will be presented before the LORD. The person will lay a hand on the head of the offering and slaughter it before the Tent of Meeting, and Aaron’s sons will dash its blood against all sides of the altar. From the sacrifice of well-being the person will bring as an offering by fire to the LORD its fat: the entire fat tail, removed close to the backbone, the fat that covers the entrails, and all the fat around the entrails, the two kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the appendage of the liver, removed with the kidneys. The priest will turn these into smoke on the altar as food, an offering by fire to the LORD.

From the Goats

If the offering is a goat, the person will present it before the LORD. The person will lay a hand on its head and slaughter it before the Tent of Meeting, and the sons of Aaron will dash its blood against all sides of the altar. From it the person will bring as an offering by fire to the LORD the fat that covers the entrails and all the fat around the entrails, the two kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the appendage of the liver, removed with the kidneys. The priest will turn them into smoke on the altar as food, an offering by fire for a pleasing aroma. All the fat belongs to the LORD. This will be a perpetual statute throughout your generations, in all your dwellings: you will eat neither fat nor blood.”
