Leviticus 2

The Grain Offering

1When anyone brings a grain offering to the LORD, the offering will be fine flour. The person will pour oil on it and place frankincense on it, 2and bring it to Aaron’s sons, the priests. The priest will take from it a handful of the fine flour and oil, together with all its frankincense, and turn its memorial portion into smoke on the altar, an offering by fire, a pleasing aroma to the LORD. 3What remains of the grain offering belongs to Aaron and his sons. It is most holy from the offerings by fire to the LORD.

Baked Grain Offerings

4When you bring a grain offering baked in an oven, it will be unleavened cakes of fine flour mixed with oil, or unleavened wafers spread with oil. 5If your offering is a grain offering prepared on a griddle, it will be fine flour mixed with oil and unleavened. 6Break it into pieces and pour oil on it. It is a grain offering. 7If your offering is a grain offering prepared in a pan, it will be made of fine flour with oil.

8You will bring to the LORD the grain offering made from these things. It will be presented to the priest, who will bring it to the altar. 9The priest will lift from the grain offering its memorial portion and turn it into smoke on the altar, an offering by fire, a pleasing aroma to the LORD. 10What remains of the grain offering belongs to Aaron and his sons. It is most holy from the offerings by fire to the LORD.

Yeast, Honey, and Salt

11No grain offering that you bring to the LORD will be made with yeast, for you will not turn any yeast or any honey into smoke as an offering by fire to the LORD. 12You may bring them to the LORD as an offering of first produce, but they will not go up on the altar as a pleasing aroma. 13You will season every grain offering with salt. You will not let the salt of the covenant of your God be missing from your grain offering. With every offering you will bring salt.

First Produce

14If you bring a grain offering of first produce to the LORD, you will bring fresh heads of grain roasted in fire, crushed grain from the fresh crop, as the grain offering of your first produce. 15You will put oil on it and place frankincense on it. It is a grain offering. 16The priest will turn into smoke as its memorial portion some of the crushed grain and oil, together with all its frankincense. It is an offering by fire to the LORD.
