Psalm 75
We give thanks to you, O God;
we give thanks, for your name is near.
People declare your wondrous works.
“When I select the appointed time,
I will judge with fairness.
The earth and all its inhabitants dissolve,
but I uphold its pillars. Selah
I say to the boastful, ‘Do not boast,’
and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up the horn.
Do not lift up your horn on high,
do not speak with insolent neck.’”
For neither from the east nor from the west,
nor from the wilderness comes exaltation.
But God is the judge;
he puts down one and exalts another.
For a cup is in the hand of the Lord,
full of foaming wine mixed with spices,
and he pours out from it.
But its dregs, all the wicked of the earth
will drink, draining it to the last drop.
But I will declare forever;
I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
All the horns of the wicked I will cut off,
but the horns of the righteous will be exalted.
