Psalm 111

Great Are the Works of the LORD

1Praise the LORD!
I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart,
in the council of the upright and in the congregation. 2Great are the works of the LORD,
studied by all who delight in them. 3Splendor and majesty are God’s work,
and God’s righteousness endures forever. 4The LORD has made the wonders to be remembered;
the LORD is gracious and compassionate. 5God gives food to those who fear the LORD;
God remembers the covenant forever. 6The LORD has shown the people the power of God’s works
by giving them the inheritance of the nations.

The Fear of the LORD Is the Beginning of Wisdom

7The works of God’s hands are truth and justice;
all God’s precepts are trustworthy. 8They are established forever and ever,
performed in faithfulness and uprightness. 9God sent redemption to the people
and commanded the covenant forever.
Holy and fearsome is God’s name. 10The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom;
good understanding belongs to all who practice it.
God’s praise endures forever.
