Jesus Is Buried

When evening came, a rich man from Arimathea named Joseph arrived. He too had become a disciple of Jesus. He went to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body. Pilate ordered it to be given to him. Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth. He laid it in his own new tomb, which he had cut into the rock. Then he rolled a large stone across the entrance and left. Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were there, sitting opposite the tomb.
