Ezekiel 45
When you allot the land as an inheritance, you shall set aside an offering for the LORD: a holy portion from the land, twenty-five thousand in length and ten thousand in width. It shall be holy throughout its entire boundary all around. Of this, there shall be for the sanctuary a square five hundred by five hundred, with fifty cubits of open land around it. From this measurement you shall measure a length of twenty-five thousand and a width of ten thousand. In it shall be the sanctuary, the most holy place. It shall be a holy portion from the land for the priests, the ministers of the sanctuary who draw near to minister to the LORD. It shall be a place for their houses and a holy place for the sanctuary.
A length of twenty-five thousand and a width of ten thousand shall belong to the Levites, the ministers of the house, as their possession: twenty chambers. Alongside the holy offering you shall give the city a possession five thousand in width and twenty-five thousand in length. It shall belong to the whole house of Israel.
For the prince there shall be land on both sides of the holy offering and of the city’s possession, alongside the holy offering and alongside the city’s possession, from the west side westward and from the east side eastward. Its length shall correspond to one of the tribal portions, from the western boundary to the eastern boundary. This shall be his possession in Israel’s land, so that my princes will no longer oppress my people. They shall give the land to the house of Israel according to their tribes.
Thus says the LORD GOD: Enough of you, princes of Israel! Put away violence and devastation; do justice and righteousness. Put an end to your expulsions of my people, declares the LORD GOD.
You shall have just balances, a just ephah, and a just bath. The ephah and the bath shall have the same measure: the bath shall contain one-tenth of a homer, and the ephah one-tenth of a homer. Their standard measure shall be according to the homer. The shekel shall be twenty gerahs. Twenty shekels, twenty-five shekels, and fifteen shekels shall be your mina.
This is the offering that you shall set aside: one-sixth of an ephah from each homer of wheat, and one-sixth of an ephah from each homer of barley. The prescribed portion of oil shall be one-tenth of a bath from each cor of oil—the cor being ten baths, or one homer, since ten baths are a homer. And one sheep from every two hundred from the well-watered pastures of Israel, for the grain offering, the burnt offering, and the well-being offerings, to make atonement for them, declares the LORD GOD. All the people of the land shall be responsible for this offering for the prince in Israel. The burnt offerings, grain offerings, and drink offerings at the festivals, new moons, Sabbaths, and all the appointed times of the house of Israel shall be the prince’s responsibility. He shall provide the sin offering, the grain offering, the burnt offering, and the well-being offerings, to make atonement for the house of Israel.
Thus says the LORD GOD: In the first month, on the first day of the month, you shall take a flawless young bull and purify the sanctuary from sin. The priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering and put it on the doorposts of the house, on the four corners of the altar’s ledge, and on the doorposts of the gate of the inner court. You shall do the same on the seventh day of the month for anyone who strays or acts unknowingly. Thus you shall make atonement for the house.
In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, you shall have the Passover, a festival lasting seven days. Unleavened bread shall be eaten. On that day the prince shall provide, for himself and for all the people of the land, a bull as a sin offering. During the seven days of the festival he shall provide as a burnt offering to the LORD seven bulls and seven rams without blemish each day for the seven days, and a male goat each day as a sin offering. He shall provide a grain offering of an ephah for each bull and an ephah for each ram, with a hin of oil for each ephah. In the seventh month, on the fifteenth day of the month, at the festival, he shall provide the same for the seven days: the same sin offering, burnt offering, grain offering, and oil.
