Ezekiel 41

1He brought me into the temple hall and measured the pilasters: six cubits wide on this side and six cubits wide on that side—the width of the tent.

2The width of the doorway was ten cubits, and the sides of the doorway were five cubits on this side and five cubits on that side. He measured its length: forty cubits; and its width: twenty cubits.

3Then he went inward and measured the pilaster of the doorway: two cubits. The doorway was six cubits, and the width of the doorway was seven cubits.

4He measured its length: twenty cubits; and its width: twenty cubits, before the temple hall. Then he said to me, “This is the most holy place.”

5He measured the wall of the house: six cubits. The width of each side chamber was four cubits, all around the house, all around.

6The side chambers were chamber beside chamber, thirty times over in three levels. They entered into the wall belonging to the house, around the side chambers, all around, so that they might be supported, but they were not supported by the wall of the house.

7The side chambers widened and went upward, story by story, because the structure of the house went upward, story by story, all around the house. Therefore the house became wider upward; and from the lowest level one went up to the highest through the middle level.

8I saw that the house had a raised base all around. The foundations of the side chambers were a full rod, six cubits to the joint.

9The width of the outer wall of the side chamber was five cubits. The open space beside the side chambers belonging to the house—

10and between the chambers—was twenty cubits wide, all around the house, all around.

11The doorway of the side chamber opened onto the open space: one doorway facing north and one doorway facing south. The width of the open space was five cubits, all around.

12The building that faced the separate area on the western side was seventy cubits wide. The wall of the building was five cubits wide all around, and its length was ninety cubits.

13He measured the house: one hundred cubits long. The separate area, the building, and its walls were one hundred cubits long.

14The width of the front of the house, together with the separate area toward the east, was one hundred cubits.

15He measured the length of the building facing the separate area behind it, together with its galleries on this side and on that side: one hundred cubits. The inner temple hall and the porches of the court,

16the thresholds, the shuttered windows, and the galleries around the three levels—opposite the threshold—were paneled with wood all around, from the ground to the windows; and the windows were covered.

17Above the doorway, as far as the inner house, and outside, on every wall all around, inside and outside, were measurements.

18Cherubim and palm trees were made, with a palm tree between cherub and cherub. Each cherub had two faces:

19a human face toward the palm tree on this side, and a young lion’s face toward the palm tree on that side. They were made throughout the whole house, all around.

20From the ground up to above the doorway, cherubim and palm trees were made—and the wall of the temple hall.

21The doorposts of the temple hall were square, and the appearance of the front of the sanctuary was like the appearance of the other.

22The wooden altar was three cubits high and two cubits long. Its corners, its length, and its sides were of wood. He said to me, “This is the table that is before the LORD.”

23The temple hall and the sanctuary had two doors.

24The doors had two swinging leaves each: two leaves for one door and two leaves for the other.

25Cherubim and palm trees were made on the doors of the temple hall, like those made on the walls. A wooden canopy was on the front of the porch outside.

26There were shuttered windows and palm trees on this side and on that side, on the sides of the porch, the side chambers of the house, and the canopies.
