Acts 4
No One Among Them Was in Need
The whole community of believers was one in heart and soul. No one claimed that any possession belonged privately to them; instead, they held everything in common. With great power the apostles gave their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all. There was not a needy person among them, because those who owned fields or houses sold them and brought the proceeds and laid them at the apostles’ feet. The money was then distributed to each person according to need. Joseph, whom the apostles called Barnabas—which means Son of Encouragement—was a Levite from Cyprus. He sold a field he owned, brought the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
