Zechariah 5
Sixth Vision: The Flying Scroll
Again I lifted my eyes and looked, and there was a flying scroll.
And he said to me, “What do you see?”
I said, “I see a flying scroll. Its length is twenty cubits, and its width ten cubits.”
Then he said to me, “This is the curse going out over the face of the whole land. For everyone who steals will be removed according to what is written on one side, and everyone who swears falsely will be removed according to what is written on the other side.
I have sent it out, says the LORD of Hosts, and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of the one who swears falsely by my name. It will remain in that house and consume it, both its timber and its stones.”
Seventh Vision: The Woman in the Ephah
Then the angel who was speaking with me came forward and said to me, “Lift your eyes and see what this is that is going out.”
I said, “What is it?”
He said, “This is the ephah that is going out.”
And he said, “This is their appearance throughout the whole land.”
And look—a round cover of lead was lifted, and there was a woman sitting inside the ephah.
And he said, “This is Wickedness.”
Then he threw her back into the ephah and threw the lead weight over its opening.
Then I lifted my eyes and looked, and there were two women coming forward, with wind in their wings. They had wings like the wings of a stork, and they lifted the ephah between earth and heaven. Then I said to the angel who was speaking with me, “Where are they taking the ephah?” And he said to me, “To build a house for it in the land of Shinar. When it is prepared, it will be set there on its base.”
