Zechariah 14
The Day of the LORD Comes
Look, a day is coming for the LORD, when your plunder will be divided in your midst. For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem for battle. The city will be captured, the houses plundered, and the women violated. Half of the city will go out into exile, but the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city.
The LORD Will Fight for Jerusalem
Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations, as when the LORD fights on a day of battle.
On that day the LORD’s feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which lies before Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west by a very great valley, so that half of the mountain will move northward and half southward.
And you will flee through the valley of my mountains, for the valley of the mountains will reach to Azal. You will flee just as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah.
Then the LORD my God will come,
and all the holy ones with him.
A Unique Day
On that day there will be no light; the lights will grow dim.
It will be a unique day, known to the LORD, neither day nor night; but at evening time there will be light.
On that day living waters will flow out from Jerusalem, half of them toward the eastern sea and half toward the western sea. It will continue in summer and in winter.
And the LORD will become king over all the earth.
On that day
the LORD will be one,
and the LORD’s name one.
Jerusalem Will Dwell Securely
All the land will be changed into a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem. But Jerusalem will be raised up and remain in its place, from the Benjamin Gate to the place of the First Gate, to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the king’s winepresses. People will dwell in it, and there will no longer be a ban of destruction. Jerusalem will dwell securely.
The Plague Against the Nations
And this will be the plague with which the LORD will strike all the peoples who fought against Jerusalem:
Their flesh will waste away
while they are standing on their feet;
their eyes will waste away
in their sockets;
and their tongues will waste away
in their mouths.
On that day a great panic from the LORD will fall upon them. Each will seize the hand of another, and the hand of one will be raised against the hand of another.
Judah also will fight at Jerusalem. And the wealth of all the surrounding nations will be gathered—gold, silver, and garments in great abundance.
And a plague like this plague will fall upon the horse, the mule, the camel, the donkey, and every animal in those camps.
The Nations Will Worship the King
Then everyone who survives from all the nations that came against Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD of Hosts, and to keep the Festival of Booths. And if any of the families of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of Hosts, there will be no rain upon them. And if the family of Egypt does not go up and enter, then the plague with which the LORD strikes the nations that do not go up to keep the Festival of Booths will fall upon them. This will be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not go up to keep the Festival of Booths.
Holy to the LORD
On that day there will be written on the bells of the horses:
“Holy to the LORD.”
And the cooking pots in the house of the LORD will be like the bowls before the altar.
Every cooking pot in Jerusalem and Judah will be holy to the LORD of Hosts, and everyone who sacrifices will come and take from them and boil the sacrifice in them.
And on that day there will no longer be a Canaanite in the house of the LORD of Hosts.
