Psalm 30
I will exalt you, LORD,
for you have drawn me up
and have not made my enemies rejoice over me.
LORD my God,
I cried out to you,
and you healed me.
LORD, you brought up my life from Sheol;
you kept me alive from going down to the Pit.
Sing praises to the LORD, you faithful ones,
and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
For his anger is for a moment;
his favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may lodge for the evening,
but rejoicing comes in the morning.
As for me, I said in my security,
“I will never be shaken.”
LORD, by your favor
you made my mountain stand strong.
You hid your face;
I was dismayed.
To you, LORD, I called;
to the Lord I pleaded for grace:
“What gain is there in my blood,
in my going down to the Pit?
Will dust give you thanks?
Will it declare your faithfulness?
Hear, LORD, and be gracious to me;
LORD, be my helper.”
You turned my mourning into dancing for me;
you loosened my sackcloth
and clothed me with joy,
so that glory may sing praise to you and not be silent.
LORD my God,
I will give thanks to you forever.
