Psalm 21
LORD, the king rejoices in your strength,
and in your salvation how greatly he exults!
The desire of his heart you have given him,
and the request of his lips you have not withheld. Selah.
You have welcomed him with the blessings of goodness,
you set a crown of fine gold on his head.
He asked you for life, and you gave it to him,
length of days forever and ever.
His glory is great through your salvation;
majesty and splendor you bestow upon him.
For you make him most blessed forever;
you make him joyful with gladness in your presence.
Because the king trusts in LORD,
and through the steadfast love of the Most High, he will not be shaken.
Your hand will find all your enemies;
your right hand will find those who hate you.
You will make them like a fiery furnace
at the time of your appearance.
LORD, in his anger, will swallow them up,
and fire will devour them.
You will destroy their offspring from the earth,
their descendants from among humanity.
Though they plot evil against you,
devising schemes, they will not succeed.
For you will put them to flight;
you will aim your arrows at their faces.
Be exalted, LORD, in your strength;
we will sing and praise your power.
