Psalm 148

Praise the LORD from the Heavens

1Praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD from the heavens;
praise God in the heights! 2Praise God, all God’s angels;
praise God, all God’s hosts! 3Praise God, sun and moon;
praise God, all shining stars! 4Praise God, highest heavens,
and waters above the heavens! 5Let them praise the name of the LORD,
for God commanded, and they were created. 6God established them forever and ever
and gave a decree that shall not pass away.

Praise the LORD from the Earth

7Praise the LORD from the earth,
you sea monsters and all the deeps, 8fire and hail, snow and smoke,
storm wind fulfilling God’s word, 9mountains and all hills,
fruit trees and all cedars, 10wild animals and all livestock,
creeping things and winged birds, 11kings of the earth and all peoples,
princes and all judges of the earth, 12young men and young women together,
the old with the young.

The Name of the LORD Alone Is Exalted

13Let them praise the name of the LORD,
for God’s name alone is exalted;
God’s splendor is over earth and heaven. 14God has raised up a horn for the people,
praise for all the faithful ones,
for the children of Israel, a people near to God.
