Offerings for the Tabernacle
On the day Moses finished setting up the tabernacle, he anointed it and consecrated it with all its furnishings, and the altar with all its utensils; he anointed them and consecrated them. Then the leaders of Israel, the heads of their ancestral houses, made offerings. They were the leaders of the tribes, the ones who had overseen the counting. They brought their offering before the LORD: six covered wagons and twelve oxen—one wagon from every two leaders and one ox from each. They presented them before the tabernacle. The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Accept these from them, so that they may be used for the service of the Tent of Meeting. Give them to the Levites, to each according to their service.”
So Moses took the wagons and oxen and gave them to the Levites. He gave two wagons and four oxen to the Gershonites according to their service. He gave four wagons and eight oxen to the Merarites according to their service, under the direction of Ithamar son of Aaron the priest. But to the Kohathites he gave none, because their service concerned the holy things, which they carried on their shoulders.
The Dedication of the Altar
The leaders brought offerings for the dedication of the altar on the day it was anointed; the leaders brought their offering before the altar. The LORD said to Moses, “One leader each day shall bring an offering for the dedication of the altar.”
The First Day: Judah
The one who brought his offering on the first day was Nahshon son of Amminadab, from the tribe of Judah. His offering was one silver plate weighing one hundred thirty shekels, one silver basin weighing seventy shekels according to the sanctuary shekel, both full of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering; one gold pan weighing ten shekels, full of incense; one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb a year old for a burnt offering; one male goat for a sin offering; and for a sacrifice of well-being, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five male lambs a year old. This was the offering of Nahshon son of Amminadab.
The Second Day: Issachar
On the second day Nethanel son of Zuar, leader of Issachar, brought his offering. He brought as his offering one silver plate weighing one hundred thirty shekels, one silver basin weighing seventy shekels according to the sanctuary shekel, both full of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering; one gold pan weighing ten shekels, full of incense; one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb a year old for a burnt offering; one male goat for a sin offering; and for a sacrifice of well-being, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five male lambs a year old. This was the offering of Nethanel son of Zuar.
The Third Day: Zebulun
On the third day came the leader of the Zebulunites, Eliab son of Helon. His offering was one silver plate weighing one hundred thirty shekels, one silver basin weighing seventy shekels according to the sanctuary shekel, both full of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering; one gold pan weighing ten shekels, full of incense; one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb a year old for a burnt offering; one male goat for a sin offering; and for a sacrifice of well-being, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five male lambs a year old. This was the offering of Eliab son of Helon.
The Fourth Day: Reuben
On the fourth day came the leader of the Reubenites, Elizur son of Shedeur. His offering was one silver plate weighing one hundred thirty shekels, one silver basin weighing seventy shekels according to the sanctuary shekel, both full of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering; one gold pan weighing ten shekels, full of incense; one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb a year old for a burnt offering; one male goat for a sin offering; and for a sacrifice of well-being, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five male lambs a year old. This was the offering of Elizur son of Shedeur.
The Fifth Day: Simeon
On the fifth day came the leader of the Simeonites, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai. His offering was one silver plate weighing one hundred thirty shekels, one silver basin weighing seventy shekels according to the sanctuary shekel, both full of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering; one gold pan weighing ten shekels, full of incense; one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb a year old for a burnt offering; one male goat for a sin offering; and for a sacrifice of well-being, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five male lambs a year old. This was the offering of Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai.
The Sixth Day: Gad
On the sixth day came the leader of the Gadites, Eliasaph son of Deuel. His offering was one silver plate weighing one hundred thirty shekels, one silver basin weighing seventy shekels according to the sanctuary shekel, both full of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering; one gold pan weighing ten shekels, full of incense; one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb a year old for a burnt offering; one male goat for a sin offering; and for a sacrifice of well-being, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five male lambs a year old. This was the offering of Eliasaph son of Deuel.
The Seventh Day: Ephraim
On the seventh day came the leader of the Ephraimites, Elishama son of Ammihud. His offering was one silver plate weighing one hundred thirty shekels, one silver basin weighing seventy shekels according to the sanctuary shekel, both full of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering; one gold pan weighing ten shekels, full of incense; one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb a year old for a burnt offering; one male goat for a sin offering; and for a sacrifice of well-being, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five male lambs a year old. The Eighth Day: Manasseh
On the eighth day came the leader of the Manassites, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur. His offering was one silver plate weighing one hundred thirty shekels, one silver basin weighing seventy shekels according to the sanctuary shekel, both full of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering; one gold pan weighing ten shekels, full of incense; one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb a year old for a burnt offering; one male goat for a sin offering; and for a sacrifice of well-being, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five male lambs a year old. This was the offering of Gamaliel son of Pedahzur.
The Ninth Day: Benjamin
On the ninth day came the leader of the Benjaminites, Abidan son of Gideoni. His offering was one silver plate weighing one hundred thirty shekels, one silver basin weighing seventy shekels according to the sanctuary shekel, both full of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering; one gold pan weighing ten shekels, full of incense; one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb a year old for a burnt offering; one male goat for a sin offering; and for a sacrifice of well-being, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five male lambs a year old. This was the offering of Abidan son of Gideoni.
The Tenth Day: Dan
On the tenth day came the leader of the Danites, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai. His offering was one silver plate weighing one hundred thirty shekels, one silver basin weighing seventy shekels according to the sanctuary shekel, both full of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering; one gold pan weighing ten shekels, full of incense; one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb a year old for a burnt offering; one male goat for a sin offering; and for a sacrifice of well-being, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five male lambs a year old. This was the offering of Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai.
The Eleventh Day: Asher
On the eleventh day came the leader of the Asherites, Pagiel son of Ochran. His offering was one silver plate weighing one hundred thirty shekels, one silver basin weighing seventy shekels according to the sanctuary shekel, both full of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering; one gold pan weighing ten shekels, full of incense; one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb a year old for a burnt offering; one male goat for a sin offering; and for a sacrifice of well-being, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five male lambs a year old. This was the offering of Pagiel son of Ochran.
The Twelfth Day: Naphtali
On the twelfth day came the leader of the Naphtalites, Ahira son of Enan. His offering was one silver plate weighing one hundred thirty shekels, one silver basin weighing seventy shekels according to the sanctuary shekel, both full of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering; one gold pan weighing ten shekels, full of incense; one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb a year old for a burnt offering; one male goat for a sin offering; and for a sacrifice of well-being, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five male lambs a year old. This was the offering of Ahira son of Enan.
The Totals of the Dedication Offerings
This was the dedication offering for the altar from the leaders of Israel when it was anointed: twelve silver plates, twelve silver basins, and twelve gold pans. Each silver plate weighed one hundred thirty shekels, and each basin seventy. All the silver of the vessels was two thousand four hundred shekels according to the sanctuary shekel. The twelve gold pans full of incense weighed ten shekels each according to the sanctuary shekel; all the gold of the pans was one hundred twenty shekels. All the cattle for the burnt offering were twelve bulls, twelve rams, and twelve male lambs a year old, with their grain offerings; and twelve male goats for a sin offering. All the cattle for the sacrifice of well-being were twenty-four bulls, sixty rams, sixty male goats, and sixty male lambs a year old. This was the dedication offering for the altar after it was anointed.
The Voice from Above the Ark
When Moses entered the Tent of Meeting to speak with the LORD, he heard the voice speaking to him from above the cover that was on the ark of the testimony, from between the two cherubim. And the LORD spoke to him.
