Isaiah 62

Zion's New Name

For Zion’s sake I will not be silent;
for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest,
until her righteousness shines like dawn
and her salvation burns like a torch.
Nations will see your righteousness,
and all kings your glory.
You will be called by a new name
that the LORD’s mouth will pronounce.
You will be a splendid crown in the LORD’s hand,
a royal diadem in your God’s palm.
You will no longer be called Abandoned,
nor your land Desolate.
You will be called My Delight Is in Her,
and your land Married,
for the LORD delights in you,
and your land will be married.

As a young man marries a virgin,
so your sons will marry you.
As a bridegroom rejoices over a bride,
so your God will rejoice over you.
On your walls, Jerusalem, I have stationed watchmen;
all day and all night they will never be silent.
You who remind the LORD, take no rest,
and give him no rest
until he establishes Jerusalem
and makes her a praise in the earth.
The LORD has sworn by his right hand
and by his mighty arm:
“I will never again give your grain as food to your enemies,
nor will foreigners drink the new wine you worked for.

Those who gather the grain will eat it
and praise the LORD;
those who gather the grapes will drink their wine
in my holy courts.”
Pass through, pass through the gates!
Prepare the people’s road.
Build up, build up the highway;
clear away the stones.
Raise a banner over the peoples!
Look, the LORD has announced to the ends of the earth:
“Say to Daughter Zion, ‘Look, your salvation is coming!
Look, his reward is with him,
and his recompense goes before him.’”
They will call them Holy People,
Redeemed of the LORD.
And you will be called Sought Out,
A City Not Abandoned.
