Ezekiel 48
These are the names of the tribes: From the northern end, beside the way of Hethlon toward Lebo-hamath, Hazar-enan—the border of Damascus northward, beside Hamath—Dan shall have one portion, from the eastern side to the western side. Along the border of Dan, from the eastern side to the western side: Asher, one portion. Along the border of Asher, from the eastern side to the western side: Naphtali, one portion. Along the border of Naphtali, from the eastern side to the western side: Manasseh, one portion. Along the border of Manasseh, from the eastern side to the western side: Ephraim, one portion. Along the border of Ephraim, from the eastern side to the western side: Reuben, one portion. Along the border of Reuben, from the eastern side to the western side: Judah, one portion.
Along the border of Judah, from the eastern side to the western side, shall be the contribution that you set apart: twenty-five thousand wide and as long as one of the portions, from the eastern side to the western side. The sanctuary shall be in its midst. The contribution that you set apart for the LORD shall be twenty-five thousand long and ten thousand wide.
This holy contribution shall belong to the priests: twenty-five thousand northward, ten thousand wide westward, ten thousand wide eastward, and twenty-five thousand long southward. The sanctuary of the LORD shall be in its midst. It shall be for the consecrated priests, the descendants of Zadok, who kept my charge and did not go astray when the people of Israel went astray, as the Levites did. It shall be for them a contribution from the contribution of the land, most holy, beside the border of the Levites. The Levites shall have, alongside the territory of the priests, twenty-five thousand in length and ten thousand in width. The whole length shall be twenty-five thousand, and the width ten thousand. They shall not sell any of it, exchange it, or transfer this choice portion of the land, for it is holy to the LORD.
The remaining five thousand in width alongside the twenty-five thousand shall be common land for the city, for dwellings and open land. The city shall be in its midst. These shall be its measurements: the north side, four thousand five hundred; the south side, four thousand five hundred; the east side, four thousand five hundred; and the west side, four thousand five hundred. The city shall have open land: two hundred fifty northward, two hundred fifty southward, two hundred fifty eastward, and two hundred fifty westward. What remains in length alongside the holy contribution shall be ten thousand eastward and ten thousand westward, alongside the holy contribution. Its produce shall be food for those who serve the city. Those who serve the city shall cultivate it from all the tribes of Israel. The whole contribution shall be twenty-five thousand by twenty-five thousand. You shall set apart the holy contribution as a square, together with the property of the city.
What remains shall belong to the prince, on both sides of the holy contribution and of the property of the city: alongside the twenty-five thousand of the contribution, to the eastern border; and westward alongside the twenty-five thousand, to the western border, corresponding to the portions. It shall belong to the prince. The holy contribution and the sanctuary of the house shall be in its midst. From the property of the Levites and from the property of the city, which are in the midst of what belongs to the prince, everything between the border of Judah and the border of Benjamin shall belong to the prince.
As for the rest of the tribes: from the eastern side to the western side, Benjamin, one portion. Along the border of Benjamin, from the eastern side to the western side: Simeon, one portion. Along the border of Simeon, from the eastern side to the western side: Issachar, one portion. Along the border of Issachar, from the eastern side to the western side: Zebulun, one portion. Along the border of Zebulun, from the eastern side to the western side: Gad, one portion. Along the border of Gad, on the south side, the boundary shall run from Tamar to the waters of Meribath-kadesh, then along the wadi to the Great Sea. This is the land that you shall allot as an inheritance to the tribes of Israel, and these are their portions, declares the LORD GOD.
These are the exits of the city: On the north side, four thousand five hundred in measurement, there shall be three gates of the city, named for the tribes of Israel: the gate of Reuben, one; the gate of Judah, one; the gate of Levi, one. On the east side, four thousand five hundred, with three gates: the gate of Joseph, one; the gate of Benjamin, one; the gate of Dan, one. On the south side, four thousand five hundred in measurement, with three gates: the gate of Simeon, one; the gate of Issachar, one; the gate of Zebulun, one. On the west side, four thousand five hundred, with three gates: the gate of Gad, one; the gate of Asher, one; the gate of Naphtali, one. The perimeter shall be eighteen thousand. And the name of the city from that day shall be: The LORD Is There.
