The Priestly Garments
From the blue, purple, and scarlet yarn they made woven garments for ministering in the Holy Place. They made the holy garments for Aaron, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
The Ephod
He made the ephod of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine twisted linen. They hammered the gold into thin sheets and cut it into threads to work into the blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and the fine linen, the work of a skilled designer. They made shoulder pieces for it, joined together; at its two edges it was joined. The skillfully woven band upon it, with which it was fastened, was of one piece with it and of the same workmanship: gold, blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine twisted linen, as the LORD had commanded Moses. They prepared the onyx stones, enclosed in settings of gold, engraved like the engravings of a signet with the names of the children of Israel. He put them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod as stones of remembrance for the children of Israel, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
The Breastpiece
He made the breastpiece, the work of a skilled designer, like the workmanship of the ephod: of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine twisted linen. It was square and folded double; they made the breastpiece a span long and a span wide when folded double. They set in it four rows of stones. A row of carnelian, topaz, and emerald was the first row; the second row: turquoise, sapphire, and diamond; the third row: jacinth, agate, and amethyst; the fourth row: beryl, onyx, and jasper. They were enclosed in settings of gold. The stones were according to the names of the children of Israel, twelve according to their names, engraved like a signet, each according to its name, for the twelve tribes.
The Breastpiece Fastened to the Ephod
They made on the breastpiece chains like cords, of twisted pure gold. They made two settings of gold and two rings of gold and put the two rings on the two ends of the breastpiece. They put the two twisted cords of gold into the two rings at the ends of the breastpiece. They put the two ends of the two cords on the two settings and attached them to the shoulder pieces of the ephod at its front. They made two rings of gold and put them on the two ends of the breastpiece, on its inner edge next to the ephod. They made two more rings of gold and put them on the two shoulder pieces of the ephod, low on its front, near its joining, above the woven band of the ephod. They bound the breastpiece by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a cord of blue yarn, so that it rested on the woven band of the ephod and did not come loose from the ephod, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
The Robe and Linen Garments
He made the robe of the ephod, the work of a weaver, entirely of blue. The opening of the robe was in its middle, like the opening of a coat of armor, with a binding around its opening so that it would not tear. On the hem of the robe they made pomegranates of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine twisted linen. They made bells of pure gold and put the bells between the pomegranates around the hem of the robe, between the pomegranates: a bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, around the hem of the robe for ministering, as the LORD had commanded Moses. They made the tunics of fine linen, the work of a weaver, for Aaron and for his sons, and the turban of fine linen, the splendid head coverings of fine linen, the linen undergarments of fine twisted linen, and the sash of fine twisted linen and blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, the work of an embroiderer, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
Holy to the LORD
They made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold and wrote on it an inscription like the engraving of a signet:
“Holy to the LORD.”
They put a cord of blue yarn on it to fasten it upon the turban above, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
The Work Is Completed
Thus all the work of the dwelling, the tent of meeting, was completed. The children of Israel did according to all that the LORD had commanded Moses; so they did. They brought the dwelling to Moses: the tent and all its furnishings, its clasps, frames, crossbars, pillars, and bases; the covering of ram skins dyed red, the covering of fine leather, and the screening veil; the ark of the testimony with its poles and the cover; the table, all its utensils, and the bread of the Presence; the pure lampstand, its lamps, the lamps set in order, all its utensils, and the oil for the light; the gold altar, the anointing oil, the fragrant incense, and the screen for the entrance of the tent; the bronze altar and its bronze grate, its poles and all its utensils, the basin and its stand; the hangings of the court, its pillars and bases, the screen for the gate of the court, its cords and pegs, and all the utensils for the service of the dwelling, for the tent of meeting; the woven garments for ministering in the Holy Place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons for priestly service.
Moses Blesses the Work
According to all that the LORD had commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did all the work. Moses saw all the work, and look, they had done it; as the LORD had commanded, so they had done. And Moses blessed them.
