Exodus 27

The Altar of Burnt Offering

“You will make the altar of acacia wood, five cubits long and five cubits wide. The altar will be square, and its height will be three cubits. You will make horns for it on its four corners; its horns will be of one piece with it, and you will overlay it with bronze. You will make its pots for removing ashes, its shovels, basins, forks, and firepans. You will make all its utensils of bronze. You will make for it a grate, a network of bronze, and on the network you will make four bronze rings at its four corners. You will put it beneath the ledge of the altar below, so that the network reaches halfway up the altar. You will make poles for the altar, poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with bronze. Its poles will be put through the rings, and the poles will be on the two sides of the altar when it is carried. You will make it hollow, with boards. As it was shown to you on the mountain, so they will make it.

The Court of the Dwelling

“You will make the court of the dwelling. On the south side there will be hangings for the court of fine twisted linen, one hundred cubits long on one side. Its twenty pillars and their twenty bases will be bronze; the hooks of the pillars and their bands will be silver. Likewise on the north side there will be hangings one hundred cubits long, with twenty pillars and twenty bronze bases, with silver hooks and bands for the pillars. For the width of the court on the west side there will be hangings fifty cubits long, with ten pillars and ten bases. The width of the court on the east side will be fifty cubits. The hangings for one side of the entrance will be fifteen cubits, with three pillars and three bases. For the other side there will be hangings fifteen cubits, with three pillars and three bases. For the gate of the court there will be a screen twenty cubits long, of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine twisted linen, the work of an embroiderer, with four pillars and four bases. All the pillars around the court will be banded with silver. Their hooks will be silver, and their bases bronze. The length of the court will be one hundred cubits, the width fifty throughout, and the height five cubits, with hangings of fine twisted linen and bases of bronze. All the utensils of the dwelling used in all its service, and all its pegs and all the pegs of the court, will be bronze.

Oil for the Light

“You will command the children of Israel to bring you pure beaten olive oil for the light, to make a lamp go up continually. In the tent of meeting, outside the veil that is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons will tend it from evening until morning before the LORD. It will be a perpetual statute throughout their generations from the children of Israel.
