Conversations Among Small Churches

Small churches face unique challenges and opportunities. We often serve with limited resources, carry multiple responsibilities, and navigate questions that do not always have easy answers. Yet small churches also possess remarkable strengths: deep relationships, flexibility, local knowledge, and a capacity for faithful innovation that is sometimes harder to cultivate in larger settings.

This collection offers brief reflections and discussion guides for leaders, sessions, and congregations who want to think more deeply about faithful ministry in changing times. These are not position papers or definitive answers. They are invitations to conversation. Each article explores a question facing many churches today—leadership, stewardship, mission, discipleship, partnership, risk, and faithfulness—and provides space for prayerful reflection and honest dialogue.

Our hope is that these conversations help congregations discern where God is at work, identify opportunities for growth, and encourage one another in the shared work of ministry. The goal is not simply to discuss ideas, but to discover together what faithful action might look like in our own communities.
